LEAD INSTRUCTOR – CRAFTCAMP PROGRAMS

Full-summer & short-season positions for STEM educators ready to flip the script on traditional education, $17+/hour & compensation for travel.

Guide young campers in age groups of 5-7, 7-12, or 10-14 as they spawn into the curious world of Minecraft!

Our programs are special because not only do we have a killer curriculum, but we empower our lead instructors to constantly evolve the curriculum using a combination of their amazing personalities, the passions of their campers, and the technical problem solving skills that we work with them to develop during staff training.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Guide groups of inspired 5-14 year olds through the best week of their summer!
  • Create an inclusive atmosphere where every camper is respected and appreciated for their own talents and individuality.
  • Become an expert in our Junior Minecrafters, Minecraft Challenge, & Xtreme Minecraft curricula, then share your knowledge! Activities include basic coding, video game design, video production, and more!

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Positive and professional demeanor when faced with challenges
  • 18 years or older
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to regularly and safely lift and transport 50 pounds.
  • Secure storage space for tech equipment over weekends (about four 30-gallon storage tubs)
  • Willingness to commute to various Bay Area locations (we will do our best to keep your commute short, but longer commutes will sometimes be required)

USEFUL SKILLS:

  • Experience working with kids, childhood development, or education.
  • Some experience with Minecraft
  • Some experience programming, computer science background preferred.
  • Excellent problem solving skills

LOCATION: We are currently hiring for these positions in Marin County, the East Bay, the South Bay, San Francisco, and the Peninsula.

SCHEDULE: These are seasonal positions. Both full-summer and short-season employees will work approximately 40 hours a week. The difference is that full-season employees can expect to work every week from 6/19-8/11 while short-season employees will be expected to work 2-5 weeks of the summer. Camps typically run 9am-4pm, Monday-Friday. You will be paid to arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of each day of camp, and also to stay on-site at the end of each day until all campers are picked up by authorized guardians and the room is locked. You may also be asked to arrive early/stay late or work on a weekend to load in and load out equipment.

COMPENSATION: Our instructors are some of the best paid in the industry. Wage is based on experience and starts at a minimum of $17/hr. Lead instructors are also compensated 25 cents per mile after the first 30 miles per day of driving.

ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR – CRAFTCAMP PROGRAMS

Short-season summer positions for energetic individuals excited to create meaningful experiences, $14+/hour & compensation for travel.

Assistant Instructors work closely with our Lead Instructors to teach Minecraft-based lessons to our campers, empowering kids to express themselves. If you’re passionate about working with youngsters and want to build on those skills, this may be the perfect opportunity! As Assistant Instructor, you will help campers follow directions and accomplish tasks set by the Lead Instructor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide general assistance and support for CraftCamp programming
  • Help maintain a safe, friendly and welcoming environment
  • Assist with set-up, preparation and cleanup as needed

KEY SKILLS:

  • Have at least basic understanding of how to play Minecraft
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a classroom environment
  • Positive, friendly attitude
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
